Nutrition Coaching Services
Ready to start healing your relationship to food and your body? Ready to start the journey to self love and self acceptance?
interested in working with an anti-diet dietitian?
I provide virtual nutrition coaching to people looking to heal their relationships to food, whether you're coming from years of chronic dieting, disordered eating of any kind or are just looking for a way to find peace around food. I am based out of the Greater Boston Area, but I see clients for nutrition coaching virtually from all over the United States using a privacy-protected platform.
Have Questions? I have answers.
What is the goal of nutrition coaching?
During our coaching sessions, we'll work towards finding an individualized plan that works for you taking into consideration food, body image, mental health and anything else that you are concerned about. During our sessions, we'll work together to help you find your personalized definition of "healthy" considering physical, spiritual, mental and emotional health. I use Health at Every Size in my practice, which means I believe you can be healthy regardless of weight or size. I do not provide weight loss counseling, but instead help you find an intuitive and satisfying approach to eating.
How do i know if coaching is right for me?
- You obsess over calories, macros and feel out of control and/or rigid around food
- You are in recovery from an eating disorder and are hoping to transition to intuitive eating
- You have gone on every diet in the book and are ready to be done for good
- You know you're not taking care of yourself the way you want to be and want someone to help guide you to your version of healthy
- You spend most of your day thinking about food/exercise and are ready to take back your power from diet culture
- You feel out of touch with your body and want to rebuild body trust
If any of these things apply to you (or sound familiar), then nutrition coaching may be exactly what you need. If you aren't sure whether this kind of coaching is right for you, feel free to contact me.
What Can I expect during our sessions?
During the initial assessment, we'll go over your past medical history and any disordered/dysfunctional eating patterns, food rules, food fears, body/weight concerns and what you're hoping to get from our work together. During follow-up appointments, we will review your goals and adjust as necessary to help you develop a healthy relationship to food. We'll also work on developing coping mechanisms not related to food and ways to navigate the world of intuitive eating/body acceptance. If body image is a concern, we will bring that into the session with the hopes of helping you feel at home in your body (this may be done in conjunction with a therapist). Each session is individualized and tailored to you so that you get the most out of our time together. If you are in a group session, the focus will remain on building a healthier relationship to food and body using intuitive eating and Health at Every Size. However, the group setting allows multiple people to share their points of view; while I will facilitate the conversation, every group member will get a chance to share what they're struggling with and offer support to others.
What if I have a question after our appointment?
I am available to you via email for additional support on the days that we do not meet. That means if you have any questions, concerns, or need some extra support or even just a pep talk, you can email me and I will respond within 24 hours.
How do I get started?
Before we work together, we'll schedule a (free) 15-minute consult to make sure it's a good fit for us both. If during our initial consultation I think you may need a higher level of treatment, I will suggest getting a treatment team (therapist, psychiatrist and/or doctor) in place before going forward. I will help you find professionals in your area if necessary. After the initial consult, I will send you our new client paperwork and you can schedule your initial assessment. From there, we will decide together if we want to meet weekly or bi-weekly.
Payments: I accept credit card payments through Paypal or Venmo, due at or before the time of each session.
Insurance: I do not accept insurance at this time; however, I can provide paperwork to submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network coverage.
Sliding Scale: I do offer a sliding scale payment plan for those who are financially limited. Contact me for more information.
